Fantasy Combo:Dragon + Castle + Princess + Mermaid

"Fantasy Comboragon + Castle + Princess + Mermaid" was painted with acrylic on a primed ~12" x 16" canvas stretched on an oval frame. The 1/2 inch edge on the inside back of the painting makes it easy to hang on a nail or push pin tack. The oval canvas came stretched and primed for painting from an art store. The edges are painted black.

One day I asked friends on Facebook for painting ideas and someone suggested "dragons, castles, princesses and mermaids" so I decided to try to combine all of those into a single painting. A green dragon in the distance breathes fire around the sun and purple smoke fills the sky above the castle. Inside a tower a princess wearing pink gazes out from a window while a mermaid watches from the moat surrounding the castle. The mermaid does not have a traditional green tail but instead an orange tail, like a gold fish, to reflect the color of the fiery sun at the top of the painting.
